Ethiopian State Minister of Industry Paid a Visit to Lifan Group


 On June 30, Ethiopian State Minister of Industry Alemu Sime Feyisa, Director General of Metal Industry Development Institute Workeneh Delelegn and Ethiopian Consul in China Fikadu Bekele paid a visit to Lifan Group.


In accompany of the top management of Lifan Group, the three guests has paid a visit successively to Lifan Center, Lifan Football Club, Lifan New Energy Station, Lifan Showroom and Lifan R & D Center. And they gave high praises to Lifan which showed its strong strength.


At the meeting followed, the president Mark Timber introduced the good development situation of Lifan Group currently in China and other countries to Ethiopian State Minister. In the aspect of Lifan overseas plants, Lifan sales volume and the new exploration to new energy industry, Mark illustrated the development status and outlook of Lifan, and he said Lifan attached great importance on the development in Ethiopia.


The executive deputy general manager Rick Wang further elaborated Lifan’s development in Ethiopia as well as its future planning. Both parties have made further discussion on the issues Lifan has encountered in Ethiopia.


The Director General of Metal Industry development Institute Alemu Sime Feyisa said, due to the regulations of Ethiopian law, the development of foreign enterprises were limited in Ethiopia indeed. Nowadays Ethiopia takes China as the example, devoted to the reform and opening-up policy as well as the economy development. In the future Ethiopia government would make some adjustment to the existing laws and policies which would provide more convenience to Lifan for cooperating with Ethiopia. Just as the cooperation between Ethiopian Taxi Company and Lifan Group, Ethiopian government was glad to see a stronger and stronger Lifan in Ethiopia and expected Lifan to strengthen the localized construction in Ethiopia, bringing more products to Ethiopia such as motorcycles and agricultural machineries.


The fruitful meeting has driven the further development of Lifan Motors in Ethiopia, determining the brand new cooperation pattern between Lifan and Ethiopia, which has laid more solid foundation for the friendly economy exchange between the two countries. The discussion result makes Lifan more confident which has widened the cooperation channel for driving Ethiopian auto industry development and accelerating Ethiopian economy.
